Diane’s books are all written with the teacher, parent and student in mind. Her teacher resource books are aimed at making communication among all three clear, helpful and positive. Her middle grade, historical fiction is written for a second to fourth grader, is easily used in the fourth grade classroom with local history as part of the standards and has a clear message about the importance of school which parents will appreciate.
With this in mind, Diane is offering sample pages from her teacher resource books, and free lesson plans for her historical fiction novel for the teacher’s use in the classroom, or the home schooling parent’s use.
Wishes In The Field
Diane Mierzwik’s historical fictional account of turn of the century life in Redlands fits nicely with the fourth grade California standards. The novel can be used as supplemental reading to tie in with the social studies curriculum.
The author would be very pleased to hear from teachers willing to share activities that have proven successful in their work with the book, with a view to posting them on this site (with due credit, of course).
